Tribute to Richard Chamberlain

Drew goes to the office to talk to Wick.
Roger offers him a job as manager; Wick’s position.
Meanwhile, Mr. Wick gets drunk at the bar and tells the gang Drew stole his job and slept with his mom.

Wick leaves to go to rehab.
Drew walks into the bar and announces he’s the new manager. His cronies are stunned. He goes to look for Wick. He meets up with him in Drew’s backyard. Drew explains his mother came onto him and that nothing happened. Nigel also now realizes that he needs to stop drinking so that he may perform better at his job.

One week later,
They are all back at the office…
Drew and Mr. Wick are talking.
Maggie walks in on the arm of Mr. Stansfield.

Maggie:  Congratulations, Lovey.
I just had a little chat with Mr. Stansfield here and
he’s agreed to give you a job at the store again.

Drew:  Really, what could you have told him?
I practically got down on my hands and knees and….Oh!

Mr. Stansfield:  Carey, I thought it over and with you and Mr. Wick as…

Maggie: Co-managers.

Stansfield:  Co-managers. You make a fine team.

Drew:  Are you kidding me? He can’t do this job, he practically ruined the place.

Maggie:  A deal’s a deal, Mr. Carey. You cannot take this job away from my Nigel.

Nigel:  Wait a minute, Mommie.

Maggie:  What?

Nigel: Well, I learned at my AA meetings I have to take responsibility for my own life. Carey, this is your decision.
You must do what you think is right.

Drew:  Why did you have to turn into a human being now?
[To Maggie]  I suppose I better give him his job back, otherwise, you’ll just show up at my house dressed in god-knows-what.

Maggie:  Perhaps something of yours, dear. I’ve been told I look quite fetching in a man’s shirt.

Drew:  Yeah, I can see you fetching.    I’ll tell you what, he can be co-manager but I get final say-so on all the decisions.

Nigel:  Oh, thank you, thank you. I can change, I promise I can, you can count on me. That was a belch, not an evil laugh.

Maggie:  You’re a good man, Drew Carey. You just saved my son’s life. Can I buy you a beer?

Drew:  Yeah, sure, why not. Hey, you know, maybe after you can help me get my refrigerator out of my basement.

In Drew’s kitchen, Mrs. Wick serves her son and Drew a meal.

Maggie: This is an old family recipe to thank you for helping my adorable Nigel.

Drew:  Oh, it looks great.

[Nigel squeezes a half-lemon onto his plate]

Nigel: Oh, I got lemon juice in my eyes [he covers his eyes with his hands]

[Maggie begins to cough…she is choking]

Drew:  It’s okay, I know the Heimlich…get up.

[He positions himself behind her with his arms around her mid-torso,
administering the Heimlich maneuver]

The gang walks in on this scene…shocked, gasping.

Drew:  Hold still, I’ll be done in a minute.

Mr. Wick
[rocking back & forth in his chair, hiding his eyes] :
Oh, oh, oh…it hurts my eyes!
