BOOK SIGNINGS!
AND APPEARANCES

JUNE 18, 2003.

Richard Chamberlain is jubilant,
practically bouncing with happiness.
He's just found out that "Shattered Love,"
that he wrote without the help of a ghostwriter,
has landed on the New York Times best-seller list.

"Isn't that incredible?" he asks, bounding into the
lobby of the Hotel Monaco after getting the news by phone
from his publisher, Judith Regan. "My little book!"

After he got the news about the New York Times
best-seller list, he says, "I was talking to (publisher)
Judith Regan and she said,
'Do you feel like a new person?' I said,
'Yes, but I'm still getting acquainted with this new person.' "

Since the book came out, he says,
"I'm on the verge of tears all the time.
Happy tears. I talk at these book signings,
and I have to really work not to weep.
It happens to be a problem of mine, anyway.
When I get close to the truth,
whatever that is, I tend to tear up."

Well written, philosophical deeply
thought out book almost poetic.

The book begins with a wonderful poem which
contains the deep thoughts of life.
For Moani
with all my heart can give.

THE WORLD OF ORIGIN

Some people are glad when the rose breaks into blossom and fans awake its secret splendor; some are glad when its petals fall back and rejoin Origin.
Some people are happy when friendship, passion, belief, and unbelief no longer exist, for then they can marry Origin and live in its peace.
Even the values we love and celebrate most
fervently can become walls between us and Him, darkened fountains of narrowness, of duality.
The world of Origin is an always-flowing river of Breadth and Unity. Long ago, tired of discriminations, I chose Unity as my house and Breadth as the water of my ablutions. Long ago, exhausted by duality, I buried my head in the Sun.
Long ago, worn to a husk by likes and dislikes, I died into the Love that cannot die and that casts no shadow.
Rumi

Actor Richard Chamberlain came out of the closet,

noticed, probably because just about everyone in

INTERVIEW 2004

THE HIDDEN LIFE OF
RICHARD CHAMBERLAIN

Now the four-time Emmy nominee, three-time Golden Globe
winner sports a wedding band symbolizing the bond with his life partner.
Chamberlain and Martin, 50, a stage director, have been together 27
years now. “As far as I’m concerned, Martin and I are married in the
most profound sense. There’s nothing casual about our relationship,”
says the actor by phone from Hawaii, where the two have lived for 15 years.

since his autobiography came out, the phone is ringing; and
Chamberlain is due to star, as a cantankerous judge, in the movie,
Final Witness. He plays a bisexual ambassador in the play,
The Stillborn Lover, which ran at last summer’s Berkshire Theatre
Festival and maybe Broadway-bound......................

In May 2002 Richard had an appointment with Judith Regan.

She is a super-editor/publisher.
Judith was born in 1953, Massachusetts.

Growing up on Long Island, Judith Regan earned a BA in English from Vassar College. In the late 1970s, she studied voice and worked as a secretary before becoming a reporter for the National Enquirer.

In 1987 she proposed a book on American families and their role models to Simon & Schuster. The editors were impressed, and she joined Simon & Schuster, developing a string of best-selling celebrity “tell-all” books, including those by talk show host Rush Limbaugh and radio personality Howard Stern.

Her aggressive, sales-oriented approach was highly successful, but critics charged she was undermining publishing by manufacturing personality-driven books.

In 1994 Rupert Murdoch gave Regan her own imprint at HarperCollins, Regan-Books, and a TV show on Fox News. Regan also spent time as a reporter and television producer, working on such shows as Geraldo and Entertainment Tonight.

A Manhattan resident, Judith Regan is divorced and has two children.

Richard Chamberlain's memoir,
which he told a few months back would
be published in June under the title of
"Shattered Love: A Memoir'', is still to be come.

"It deals with physical love and
'unconditional' love which is part of my life now,
and about living one's life with complete honesty.''

DR. KILDARE's prescription for us is
his "open heart" autobio. Due summer of '03,
for spirituality buffs, Richard Chamberlain says
he questioned his own self-worth, was haunted
by insecurity, "began the painful process of
reconciling his deepest self
with his public persona"
via spiritual guru J. Krishnamurti.

He tells of a lifelong struggle to find happiness,
come to terms with his imperfections,
develop a relationship with his father and
be honest about his sexual orientation.
Title: "Shattered Love: A Memoir."
Publisher: Reganbooks.
